Technical specifications of polypropylene fibers
Basalt fiber is an inorganic fiber material made from pure natural volcanic eruption rock as raw material,which is rapidly drawn and melted at a high temperature of 1450-1500℃.Adding short cut basalt fibers to cement concrete or mortar can reduce early cracks,improve the anti-seepage,crack resistance,impact resistance,corrosion resistance,durability,and reducethe brittleness coefficient of concrete.Moreover,the construction performance is good,and the fibers are easilydispersed when mixed with cement concrete or mortar,with stable volume and good workability.Therefore,short cut basaltfibers have good crack resistance,toughening,and strengthening effects on concrete and mortar.

The role of basalt fiber in asphalt concrete is to resist aging,stabilize asphalt,improve recovery ability and reduce cracks.Specifically,as follows:
1.Aging resistance:adding fiber can increase the thickness of asphalt film,help to slowdown asphalt aging,reduce asphalttemperature sensitivity and maintain long-term viscoelasticity.
2.Stable asphalt:Basalt fibers have surface affinity or wettability,and there is significant interfa- cial tension and adhesion between fibers and asphalt,which can stabilize asphalt and enhance its
elastic recovery ability.
3.Improving resilience:High strength and fine basalt fibers (equivalentto rein- forcement)can counteract or release thermal stress,thereby inhibiting the formation and propagation ofcracks in asphalt concrete,improving the self-healing ability and elastic recovery ability of asphalt slurry,thereby improving the toughness of asphalt concrete,overcoming the low-temperature brittle- ness of asphalt concrete,and having a very ideal effect on preventing cold brittle failure of asphalt concrete.
4.Reducing cracks:Basalt fibers have a high elastic modulus and suitable fracture elongation,which helps improve the elastic deformation recovery ability of asphalt concrete,reduce permanent plastic deformation and the generation of cracks.After the generation of microcracks,a uniformly dis- tributed spatial fiber network can help release the stress concentration formed at the crack tip,thereby preventing further instability and propagation of cracks until fracture failure.
